Mai* der Stadtrat, Ortsteilräte und Ortsteilbürgermeister:innen der Stadt und ihrer Ortsteile, der oder die Oberbürgermeister:in Ilmenaus, der Kreistag und der Landrat/die Landrätin des Ilm-Kreises gewählt. Eine Stichwahl findet ggf. am 9. Juni statt, das ist auch der Tag der Wahlen zum Europäischen Parlament. Am 1. September finden in Thüringen die Landtagswahlen statt. Um wählen zu dürfen, muss man hier seit mindestens 3 Monaten seinen Hauptwohnsitz haben. Bei den Kommunal- und Europawahlen ist Wählen bereits ab 16 Jahren möglich, zusätzlich zu deutschen Staatsbürger:innen dürfen auch EU-Bürger:innen an den Kommunalwahlen teilnehmen! In Ilmenau, local elections take place on May 26th, where the city council, local councilors, and local mayors of the city and its districts, as well as the mayor of Ilmenau, the district council, and the district governor of Ilm-Kreis, are being elected. A runoff election may take place on June 9th, which also coincides with the European Parliament elections. On September 1st, the state elections will be held in Thuringia. To be eligible to vote, you must have had their primary residence here for at least 3 months. For municipal and European elections, voting is possible from the age of 16, and in addition to German citizens, EU citizens are also allowed to participate in municipal elections!
